Interview Skills Workshops and Mock Interviews
We want to introduce you to the idea of improving
your job interview skills,
with an emphasis on communication, dressing for success, telephone etiquette,
asking the best questions, and being prepared to answer those questions that
would impress employers in their efforts to hire quality workers. All initial
appointments will be in the form of an interview.
Job Application Workshops
Incomplete applications can eliminate you as a job candidate even before you
ever see the employer—we want you to become aware of how written answers on
applications can show you the way in, or show you the way out! Also, learn
practical tips for Internet job searching and how to submit on-line
applications.
Resume Writing Workshops
To meet the needs of an economy that is rapidly changing, you may need to be
introduced to the process of compiling a resume. This may be your first step
toward exploring who you are, and what knowledge, skills, experience and
abilities you have to offer to an employer. Learn the different types of
resumes and how to tailor your resume to the career or specific job search that
is a match for you.
Dependable Strengths Training
You may not know how to recognize the skills you already have! This workshop
will give you an opportunity to explore and communicate your best assets. Learn
and understand how to match your skills and strengths with the jobs that are
currently in the labor market.
Ready-to-Work Credential
Job seekers need to be ready for the interview, have a resume, and complete a
job application. All employees are better employees if they can set goals, make
decisions, and build relationships with co-workers and supervisors. USWIB has a
strategy for this credential for those who complete this skills set.
Employer

The One-Stop is also a
place for Employers to make connections! We want to make the recruitment of
workers more convenient to business that wish to connect to jobseekers.
Maryland Workforce Exchange is available on-line for Employers to list
available jobs. Staff in the One-Stop can assist in these efforts, and/or can
arrange interviewing space, recruitment flyers and job fair events.
Veteran Representative

Those seeking expertise in the benefits available
to Veterans can meet with our Veteran’s representative in the One-Stop according
to the scheduled days. He/she can also use any and all of the available
resources in the
One-Stop Career Centers
without eligibility. Helmets
