I.          Grant Concurrences
 

a. Rapid Response for Chestertown Foods

The application for a Rapid Response grant for Chestertown Foods was approved in the amount of $15,000. The Steering Committee agreed to place the Rapid Response Grant Approval on the WIB agenda for concurrence.
 

b. Trade Act Funds

The application for additional Trade Act funds to assist workers from Icelandic USA, Inc was approved in the amount of $ 75,000. The Steering Committee agreed to place the Trade Act funding approval on the WIB agenda for concurrence.
 

II.          Mobile One Stop Recommendation from Ad Hoc Committee

The Steering Committee discussed a recommendation from the Mobile One Stop Ad Hoc Committee. The recommendation proposed to release a Request for Proposals including a trade in for the Mobile Learning Center. The Steering Committee agreed to place the recommendation on the WIB agenda.
 

III.         Base Realignment and Closing Project

The Steering Committee reviewed information from a study conducted by Darius Irani of Towson University on the impact of Base Realignment and Closing in Maryland. The Steering Committee requested that a summary of the Towson study be provided to the WIB and a discussion of BRAC take place at the WIB meeting.
 

IV.        Issues Survey for Capitol Hill

The Steering Committee agreed to survey the WIB membership to determine three key issues impacting the Upper Shore workforce. The issues will become talking points for visits to Congressional staffers during the National Association of Workforce Boards Conference in February.
